about

Originally slated for a Bug Incision release way back in bim-05, this one somehow got swept under the rug.

In 2007, Chris Dadge and David Laing went to the UK for a four-date tour. They played the Star & Garter in Manchester (from which there is nothing on this album), the Mopomoso series at the Red Rose in London (from which the first track is drawn), a venue in Newcastle whose name seems to have escaped us, but it was presented by A Better Noise, and Port Mahon in Oxford. Aside from the first track, it is not clear where the other recordings were made.

This version of the Bent Spoon is no longer active, Laing having shifted his focus to songwriting in the band Lab Coast. The performances have a strange starkness to them, Laing often leaving a lot of space, except for when he chews into his gnarled, oddly melodic approach to sax playing.
